I'm thinking that the person asking the question, "does this car have twin throttle bodies?", won't be participating in the auction.

Hey Guys,
Just incase people were wondering what happened to the add: It was removed by Ebay earlier today because: we had a link placed on the add to bring traffic across to our site.
The add has now been relisted minus our link
The new link to the ADD IS:http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110189328644&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=001

TBH honest I'm surprised that they haven't asked you to removed your site address that you've placed boldly in your pictures. Ebay is an auction site not a free bit of advertising space for your site, unless that is, if you're promoting a online store that you have set up with Ebay.

It is an auction site, but if they are paying for the listing and if it sells through ebay then yeh, why not have the website address there?
ebay listing gone down :(
awesome car btw :)
ebay listing back up.It just got to $100,000 yesterday.

Its on there now.Ebay had a issue with having australianmusclecarstables.com.au mentioned.Im sure ebays attention was drawn to it too:mad:. But all should be fine with it now. Cant see anyone having anything to complain about it now.It just cracked $100,000 yesterday. I have had heaps of emails and PM,s from various forums. Seems to be getting plenty of interest.:)

Gee Sly its at 125k and still hasnt met reserve,is it getting close?????, i dont want to sell mine but its tempting, the only problem when its gone the new owner (when he decides to sell) will want more again, then they will be out of reach of most,

$135,000.01!!!! But the auction ended early????
hope u get a good price sly
and it still didn't meet the reserve.
maybe because some smrtarse put an 'accidental' bid of $14 million in to work out what the reserve was. The only downside to selling a car on ebay, stuff like this loses credibility for the system.

Well an educated guess, is that they are a bit upset about it being there, considering that they have put theirs on and someone wanted to know what the reserve was at?
Seems like dirty tactics to me :(

12-11-07, 05:42 PM
that friggin sucks, makes you wanna put some ridiculous bids on theirs to see how they like it. not very mature and it won't achieve much but it might piss them off.
All i will say is i dont understand why they would put there car on at the same time as mine.It only affects the car owners and the price they get for there cars. it must make more sense to let one run its course on ebay then post the next car.I cant understand it. It cant look good for them.As far as putting it on again. I dont think so. The car has enough interest in it now from GENUINE buyers so i believe another ebay add will not help.

So it's fair to assume that AMCS were the one's complaining about the Chester's 1st and 2nd listings, what, and then decide that if they can't beat em then lets join them sort of thing?
Weak as piss!

For my 2 cents worth, I dont see the issue with it, unless there is something to hide. Both cars are expecting 100K plus on the sale, if I was looking to purchase either car and spending that sort of coin there would be alot of research done. If youre car had reached a price of 130K plus then why was it pulled? I cant understand that!

It's not smart to list them both at the same time, IMO due to the fact that they compete against eachother.
It would have made more sense for them to wait until sly's had finished, then listed theirs straight away. Would have had bidders who missed out on sly's who were keen and probably bidded on their one.
I'm guessing there where phony bids, and that's why sly's auction was pulled.

That may have been the case, but from what I saw there identities were kept private you could not even see their past bidding history! Thats important as you dont want to be bidding against one of the sellers mates!
"The car should sell itself"
Believe me. My car will sell itself. And i think that is the problem. Someone does not like the competition so dirty tactics are used.
I will add that i am not pointing any fingers. It could be anyone playing games. I am very happy that my car will sell on its own merits. Anyone who inspects it will know this. I have no concerns in that area.I just wish we could play fair.

How come you didn't just list the car yourself without using an agent? Spose the good thing would be not having to deal with heaps of cockheads.
Thats the exact reason.Chester has more contact to real potential buyers and can tell if they are genuine.

Didn't get to as much as first time round.
Is everything looking positive for a sale Sly?
Yeah things are looking good. Lots of interest. A couple of firm offers but still a little off what i want. Im still very confident it will sell.Ebay response was lower than what i would have liked. It just shows the difference when you keep dummy bids out of the equation.Still it gave the car good exposure.

Sly, how is the car sale going? interested to know how the muscle car market is doing. From the outside it looks pretty crazy!
Yeah its still for sale. Hopefully it will sell soon. Prices are still on the up i believe. Not sure how the HSV 20th aniversary will effect prices.Push them up a bit i would think.I am realistic about its sale price so should be no dramas.

Just a shame that's it's still hanging around though isn't. It would've been good to have it all stiched up by now.
Yeah i agree but it was no different to when i first bought it. He was asking about 5 grand more than other walkies with say 60,000 klm. I struggled coming to terms paying what was top dollar at the time as did a few other people looking at it but im glad i did. I believe there is a bigger pool of buyers in the lower price range so as the higher dollar ones sell the cheaper one move up a bit in price. Chester has assured me that in comparison my car is one of the best he has seen. That makes me feel good as i have never seen a walky with similar klms to compare Although yes i would like a quick sale its not exactly horrible having a smick walky to play with.
PS I just had a read of the unique cars value guide thats out now and it still rates the group A,s as undervalued.

Read that to, i think it says a pristine Walky is worth about $35k??? Cant quite recall. I'll take 6 at that price:D
I think it said the bench mark was $100,000 for cars with less than 100,000 klm. Bit of a broad range of cars that.

Must have been a different article that i was reading, that is not really specific, then what do you expect from Unique Cars:rolleyes:
I think the whole muscle car boom at the moment is very similar to the housing boom over the last 5 years. Both of which i have been watching closely. Both a very cycle orientated and generaly economy driven which is why i believe the car boom has a few years left yet. The economy is strong. Many cars have experienced a ripple effect like housing. As one model goes through the roof a similar model goes along for the ride. Like 60,s and 70,s cars have made the 80,s and 90,s cars start to move. And like houses if you bought well and have a car thats unique original and in mint condition it should still hold value regardless of a downturn. The people paying hundreds of thousands for muscle cars are not effected by interest rate rises and therefore will not sell in a down turn. Sure some will panick sell and prices may be affected short term but they will bounce back. Its supply and demand. I guess what im saying is that if people are holding off expecting prices to return to pre boom levels. I think they will be dissapointed. Its sad that many true car lovers cant get into the market but then again there must be a lot of average joe people out there with cars people more well of than them would kill for because they bought theres before they became popular. Swings both ways i guess.Like i have said before i am selling because its the best thing for me to do now.Not because i have to. I will by more cars. I always have and will. I love em. I just have a change of priorities at the moment. I will admit but i will probably never own another car like my walky. It will be very sad to see it go.
