Another walky for sale today on ebay starting price of $70K with buy it now for $90K. Nearly 150,000kms with engine mods, think he will be struggling to sell, theres too much hype at the moment.

Full on, they haven't moved that much in price over the last 6 months have they? There isn't much supply at the moment so that could be a factor as to why the asking values have moved north, interesting though.

I have a suspect feeling this is the car that was advertised on the old forums, and the owner and I had a little bit of an argument about him wanting $75k for a walky with 150,000kms.
Someone also rang me about this car a few weeks ago.
I think Carl (former owner of build #001), used to own this one also?)

I don't beleive that car would be worth anything more than $60k
my walky has same amount of km's on it and shannons would only insure it for $60000 so nzevlhsv i think you're on the money lol
ultimately like anything, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it I guess. If someone is looking for one at the moment, it's either this one or 2 other low kay ones looking for $130k+.

Hi Guys I Was The Owner Of Walky 149 And Sold For Around 80k .
A Guy From Vic Bought It And He Said He Had Looked At About 15 Walkys Between Vic And Adelaide . He Said That He Saw Alot Of Dodgie Stuff . He Flew Up To Us After Discussions And When He Saw The Car He Was More Than Happy With It ,as I Said In The Ad It Was Unrestored And The Plates Had Never Been Removed, Like The Paint Run On The Firewall Which I Understand Most Walkys Had.
The Guy That Owns Build 001 Did Own 149 And We Had Made Contact With Him. The Car Had Books And Most History.
But As One Guy Said There Only Worth What Someone Wants To Pay .
80k Is A Big Difference From 130k There Seems To Be No Middle Prices, Hence Why We Decided To Put It On And See .
My Missud Didnt Want To Sell It But We Owned It For Over 5yrs And The Value Is Much More Than We Paid For It And Buy The Way Shannons Insured That Car For What The New Owner Paid For It .
We Still Have A Vh Ss Brock But Will Buy Another Walky !!!

Wow! Just shows you how much prices have gone up recently!
I guess being unrestored with history and books counts for a lot these days with all the dodgy people out there trying to cover up things in hope they will make a quick buck
Make a thread about your VH SS. I am a big fan of them

Just a note about #149. I sold it in 2002 for $20k. The reason was coz I bought #001 and wanted a quick sale. The km at the time of sale was about 142,000km (i found a receipt for some service work in 2001). The people who bought it from me traded it at a toowoomba Car yard for $16,000 in 2002 or 2003. I do not know the km's on it then. But they'd have to be higher than 142,000km. The logbooks were not up to date as the services and repairs were always done and printed as a receipt (for some reason no one would look in the glovbox for the book) So its possible those "150,000km" are not the real deal.
