Hi Guys,

What do you think a fair asking price is on a car that has been driven with 125823 on the clock - fair share of issues:

Leaking Brake Booster / master cyl, Low Compression ~174PSI on all cyls, Usual chips, Leaking Rear main, Front Wheel bearings, Cobra electrical issues with central locking / alarm, few paint cracks / discolorations, missing radiator clip, steering wheel stiching deteriorating. (All relatively easy fixes)

Non Reversable mods are:

Cam, Uprated injectors, Head work, Diff centre (3.73), mechanical speedo drive conversion, fuse replacement of the 1st 4 fuses on the panel, 3" ex sys.

Reversable mods (stock items sold) - ECU, PCV setup and Headunit.

Replaced items:

Aerial, Drivers window, new set of lifters and valley seals, water pump, thermostat, battery, custom ignition leads, cleaned up manifold.

Comes with full books and papers. Power is 299.1 RWHP.

I know how long is a piece of string with pricing - just after honest opinions.

I am thinking of saying yes to a 40K figure - am I doing a deal with the devil do you think?

I would say around $60-$70k would be a fair asking price based on recent sales

Here's my 2c...

1. 125,000kms is not a lot for a 20 year old car
2. Cam, injectors, diff gears, exhaust can easily be returned to factory specs
3. 300rwhp is a lot of power for just a cam and head work, I would want to know what else has been done
4. If you can buy it for $40k and everything checks out fine, then it's a bargin

What build number is it?

Cheers
Alex

Agreed with what Alex has said above. Does it come with log books or any history of the car?

What is the overall condition of the car? paint? body panels? interior? does it have the steering wheel, gear stick knob, stereo? Holes cut in door trims? etc

Its my car - build 59.

Books and Papers are with the car and I have its history - I am the 3rd owner from new.

Exterior is: Fair / Good.

Sun cracks in the rear spoiler and a few chips in the paint on the lower kit. A paint blemish on the roof near the top windscreen - not rust - just like a faded patch the size of a 20c coin. A few stone marks in the front. No dints. Boot is rust free and there a a few reddish sports around the rear door drain holes that would need immediate attention.

Interior is unmolested for speakers etc - except the steering wheel stiching is going.

Update: (just for information completness) Seems I got another 5K on it - so now at 45 - I have told the buyer it is his.
