Hello,
I’m the proud new owner of #424.
Have been observing the forum for a while and now that I have the car It’s time to introduce myself.
I live in Gippsland Victoria, love car’s, motorbikes (have a shed full of both, as Im sure you all do), married, work in the oil and gas industry etc.

The car will be a long term possession, driven on fine sunny days and taken to a few car shows so others can appreciate the mighty Walkinshaw.

A few questions for you all too please answer at your leisure……….

1/ Would like to remove the original front spoiler, and put on a after market one. As even in the few short miles I’ve done its done a fair bit of scraping, let alone if you hit something with it, and as the years roll by I feel it could get damaged, possibly beyond repair, not good. I realize that its made it this far, but if I can keep it as original as possible, and if that means doing the above then I would enjoy driving the car a lot more over the years, knowing that the after market spoiler is taking the hits not the original. Would rather see an after market one bite the dust.
Who makes the best after market ones to put on the car.

2/ Would like to do the same to the steering wheel. The stitching on the wheel at about the 2 o’clock position is all ready undoing so would like to remove the wheel and put a replica in its place, do these exist. Don’t want to repair the original wheel as its part of the history of the car. (the previous owner has already removed the original gear knob and the rubber for the foot rest, all came with the car as well as the service and owners manual and a comprehensive folder of paper/recipes of the cars life )

3/ I hear you can get a custom made car cover made for these car’s, are they any good, are they worth it, what do they cost, if you recommend them, how do I go about securing one.

Well that’s about it for know. Better head up to the shed to check on the old girl, and bed her down for the night, put on the shed alarm, release the hounds etc etc.
And convince the wife she is still more important then the car…………

Kind regards……Vaughan

Hey Vaughan, welcome to the site

You will get use to how low the fronts are faily quickly. When lowered they can get a little tricky though

Sounds like you have bought a very nice car

Thanks mate. Yes very true the fronts are low, but would still like to pursue the option of the after market one. Had to get a road worthy a while back, and had to reverse out of the driveway as driving in was only just doable, was never going to be able to drive out.

Yes the car is a credit to the former owners. Hope I can keep it looking as good...........VB

Welcome Vaughan!

Aftermarket try Fibremaster. They make kits.

Car covers, well one of the site sponsors is working on that one. I'll find out whats happening.

Steering wheel, well you can get many that should just bolt on to the existing boss kit.

Thanks for the information ILLUSIV. Will investigated fibremaster and the wheel should be easy to replaced as you say. Please let us know how you go with the car cover.

Yep 364 its the same car. 383 stroker and a TKO 5 speed. Just starting her up, gets me all worked up. The poor wife knowes she's in for a little sideways action when we head out for a little, all to raire Sunday drive. Top motor, top car all round, Im a tall fella 6'3 but the driving position allowing you to go so low and the way you can set yourself up behind the wheel its a far better driving position then any of the new HSV or FPV cars that make you feel like sitting in a truck driving position.
And with the the stroker motor and the fact its a Walky its very hard not to go and terrarise the local young fellas in there little turboed runnabouts.

Well enough of my ramberling, hope we cross paths mate and you car have another drive.............VB
