People,

Is it hard to remove the side body panel from the drivers door to perform a small cosmetic repair?

Is it very difficult to remove the door skin and then how do you remove and then replace the panel. Is it fraught with danger, the point of the exercise is to make it easer to repair the panel by removing it, repair and paint then put back together.

The paint code on the build plate is 2B053-D what dose the D stand for.

Thanks for all and any replies,

u will need to take the door trim off, then undo 1 screw/bolt that holds the bodykit piece to the door. then u will need to run a blade or something along all the edges to cut the sikaflex

The side body panels are black urethaned on with 2 screws from the inside. Need a sharp scraper or thin tool to slowly get behind the edges and it will come off. As for the door skin, there is a reinforcment behind the skin urethaned on aswell. Would be easier to repair or replace door.

Good luck with the colourmatch thou. 2b053 is the code. D Stands for Dulux which was the paint system used back in the 80s by Holden.

Thanks for the reply Tub, am now not removing the panel. Will leave it in place.

Should all hopefully work out OK, and the very small repair will be done, with no evidence that it was attempted.
