Notice the little article in the latest Australian Muscle Car magazine about the Walky that was cut clean in half by a power pole? I don't have the mag with me at the moment so I can't quote from it, but to the best of my memory the story was that it was in the '90s and the guy had only owned it for two weeks and driven it twice when rain and the power pole got the better of him. Perhaps more disturbing was that the car was rebirthed, so there's possibly a Walky clone still out there with this car's tags.

Yeah, it is an old accident. I have the mag with me now and it happened in 1993. The magazine has a section at the back called "Out Of Action" where they make you cry by showing old neglected or destroyed muscle cars, and that's where the photos and the story about this one was. But it just goes to show how careful you have to be with the authenticity of these types of vehicles. I'd be really curious to know the build number of this car, although the current owner of whatever VL taxi is currently wearing the tags would no doubt prefer to live in ignorant bliss. I'm very glad my Walky has been local all its life and I have a paper trail back to the original owner.

The whole front cut would have been re-used
