these same guys also had another one in there. however the guy that i was dealing with sounded suss. saying things like.. dont know how many original kays it had, no books, tag'd by the police to say its genuine (wtf), had no information on the vehicle at all. 2yr old resto....2 much to mention. speedo read 26 odd thousand kays... apparently since rebuild. to me sounded like it was a rebirthed vehicle. not pointing the finger and calling the owner of the vehicle a crim, but thats what it sounded like in my opinion. other buyers out there just be carefull when buying a walky, as ive come across a few like this... if it sounds too good to be true it normally is. if u dont know what youre looking at, its good to have som1 that does.

That walky did have a big question mark over it but it wasnt AMCS problem. They were just selling the car on behalf of the owner.

I've heard it's one to stay away from.

I have heard that this car was sold a week or so before to the person selling now, for $100k, so if true, then someone is just looking to make a quick and easy $30k.

I believe the car was a Sydney Car.

I had a chat to AMCS about the walky with 8900 klm. They confirmed the one with 1500 klm had sold or was about to sell. They also said the one with 8,900 for $130,000 is also generating a lot of interest and expect a sale soon. They agree that prices will continue upwards with people only wanting genuine matching number cars with log books. How high they will go is hard to pick as each time you think they are getting up there, another one sells for even more.Very sad for people trying to buy one.All i could say is dont get desperate and buy a dodgy one just to get one as i believe it will be these cars that suffer once the market cools off.

Hey, I wouldn't buy any car to make money on it, while I agree prices for some cars have risen. Many of us on this site bought a walky for the look of the car well before prices rose and aren't interested in selling.
Those looking to buy a walky to resell at a profit down the track aren't walky purists.

...they're capitalists, like most people these days wanting to make money...and more money, where will it end?

I will one day buy another walky because they are the ultimate muscle car in my eyes. I would have love to have kept my previous one however being only 22 with a huge bank loan over my head caused me to sell it. However one of my dreams in life was to own a Walkinshaw and that has now been completed.

Fair enough yes i made a large profit over the 2 years i owned it but that was in no way the main factor in selling it. I like them because they are rare and so outrageous looking.

The next one i buy will be kept and passed on to my children or if feeling guilty i will be buried in it! lol kidding.

I bought my walky about 1 1/2 years ago for around $40,000. Looking back it was the best possible time to buy one as now its value is probably $100,000 or more. I didnt do it to make money. But since its value has risen so much, selling it has become highly likely. Not becouse i want too. It just makes more sense to pay my home loan off. Boring i know but its the right thing to do. I didnt do it to make money but the value rise has forced me to consider doing something i never thought i would.

What's the story with this car...it's been hanging around for a while now. Is it priced over the top?

Yeap, I recon it is. People are asking crazy prices at the moment and consequently they are not selling! If they do they are not getting what they want. Sure there has been some high prices paid of late on a select few cars but that is not the norm. You just have to look, theres a phase three for sale for 1 million dollars. Who has that sort of money. Imagine the house/ other types of cars available with money to spare?

I'd much prefer a Lamborghini Murcielago and a F430 in my driveway then a 40 year old GT...

l have been told by a mate who lives in Sydney and has seen the car that this example is no glamor, not in the condition the kms would have you believe.

It may also because it was built after the first 500, as discussed here:

With you there, if i had a cool mill to drop on a car, it wouldnt be a Ford or Holden for that matter:D

I guess some people are motivated sellers and put a price on it that will move it quick. While others who want that bit more just ask that bit more for it. In a rising value market its only a matter of time till someone offers up the money. So while values keep rising he will probably get it eventually.
