Love A Walky

Hello,
Just have a general query it would be nice to get some feedback on.
I have a genuine Walkinshaw, build number in mid 300s, certificate of authenticity from HSV, engine number, build number, J number and all plates match. There is absolutely no doubt it is a genuine car.
Car is pretty special, engine bay all wiring hidden, momo wheels, fair bit of engine work, done only mid 40,000s kilometres, excellent condition. Not 100% authentic I know with the extra work, but I like to think it enhances the car, and it is in tip-top shape.
Trouble is the car has been unregistered for several years. During that period another car was registered with the same chassis number, then subsequently stolen, so consequently the chassis number is on the stolen car database.
The cops are saying that Holden have admitted duplicating the chassis numbers, which I am having trouble believing, so therefore they can't wipe the other one off the system as it is a genuine number.
The rego authority may or may not yet register the car with something on the system but not the car to differentiate the two vehicles, however if they do not agree to that, they say the car will have to have the chassis number xxx'ed out and replaced. They may simply add extra letters or numbers to the existing number, instead of the xxx'ing out.
Do you blokes reckon this will alter the value of the car to any degree?
Thanks in advance.
