For those interested in purchasing a walky, there is one for sale on ebay. Starting price of 50K, approx 148,000kms, not bad condition, climate control as an option, certainly not from what I know?

Here is the link:

And you are correct. Climate control wasn't an option on any VL at all. Same with cruise control, but that was in VL Calais/berlinas etc, but no walkinshaws.

I think he's made an error in the description.

Car looks very good, should be interesting to see where this valued in the market.

Looks like a good genuine car. All mods can easily be removed and put back to factory

I guess like all of these cars now you need to check all the numbers with HSV before paying big $$$$

The speedo does not have the "red line: colour in it! Is this usual for some models?

Not really...When u think about it it doesnt even work out to 8000 kays a year. I have travelled to see cars that supposedly had low kays, only to find out that the books were from another car, or not even there at all!
At the end of the day, there was only 750 of these things made, and its going to get to the stage where kays simply will not matter. Look at the Phase 3's. The one that sold for $683K a couple of months back was fully restored and had NO books to prove its claimed 25,000 miles. Worry about overall condition, as Id rather have a car with 150,000 kays thats in great condition than one with 50,000 kays thats shagged! :D

Great post. I guess the best of both worlds is to have low kms and great condition, but to get both in a walky these days you will pay $70k plus.

Couldn't agree more with this post.

The kays are consistent with low to moderate use. I'd rather an honest car with these kays that some of the 20-30000 kms specials going around at the moment.

cheers,
Dave.

Gday all this is my first post so HI ALL! :):)

I personally would be happy to buy that car because it may have hunj fit on the clock but it shows use. I know someone in qld that has a genuine walkie with 42 km on the clock. They bought it, drove it home, put it on blocks, took the wheels off and it has never seen the road since. I see why he did it he has been offered over $80g for it and still said no anyway different story.

I sold mine with 101,000 on the clock and it still drove absolutely perfect, smooth and powerful so my limit for a Walkie would be around 180km.

8 bids so far....but the price is only at $51,100 with the reserve still not met. Although there's still 4 days left for bidding, so Id say it should reach the 60K mark by then. Will be interesting to see what it ends up going for...someone off here from Melbourne buy it so we can have another one to cruise with!! hehe

Yeah, we should organise a Sunday arvo cruise one weekend. I took mine out on Sunday last, turned out to be a nice arvo in the end. Did a couple of runs along Chapel Street, a few people appreciated the rumble of a V8 over the countless number of ricers and turbos :)

hi there
how we all going?
ive been keeping a close eye on the walkie thats for sale on ebay #207
what would be a realistic price to pay for car like that??
the days were you could pic one up for $35.000 are long am i right in thinking like that!

$35,000 might get u a Walky, but its gonna need work (and plenty of it!). I went and checked out the one that got auctioned recently at Shannons and that was a nice car, with 80 something kays & books, and that sold for $57K.
I think in today's market you're going to have to spend at least $45-50K to get a decent car. Not only that, but Walky owners simply aren't prepared to let go of these cars for nothing....considering an XB GT sold recently for $80K at the same Shannons auction. Not bagging the XB GT....but I know what I'd rather be driving!!!

Wow $60,000 and 6 hours to go. Still hasn't reached the reserve price.

Awesome looking car tho.....but then again Walkinshaws are the most awesome looking car anyway...

Auction ended at $65,100 with the reserve still not met! I take back that comment from a few days ago, $35,000 wont buy u a Walky!!!!

I think he's being rather optimistic if he thinks his car is worth over 65K, or has the market moved that much?

VL GRA

I think the market has moved that much they are a very under valued muscle car compared to the way the other aussie muscle cars are going. My thoughts only. The biggest thing with these muscle cars is matching no.s and matching books regardless of km's.

at least one other person thinks it's worth 65k

I think its gotten to the point where you can pretty much ask whatever u like for your car (within reason).....and there will be somebody out there that will pay the money. Id say that in 12 months time, you wont be able to buy a Walky for under $60K, regardless of condition.
Good for owners....not so good for buyers!!

Wow!!

Weather it sells or not is another thing... But if bidding is anything to go by...

Makes me wanna ring Shannons and up mine tomorrow!

I would pay 65k for a Walkie.....unfortunately I would end up heavily mod it. So I would waste good money.

Just wish I could appreciate a standard car......:p
